Setting up a WordPress blog is (relatively) easy. Setting up a well developed WordPress blog is not such an easy task. There is a lot to do beyond ‘go-live’.
I’ve been doing a few performance optimization tweaks since this site went live. There are many ways to test a site, one of which is Google’s Lighthouse tool. Here are the results (for my homepage):

FastOrSlow by Wordfence is another. Here’re those results:

So, still a little work to do on performance, plus, of course, many more other things, such as security, newsletter, oh, and posts, including my methods of getting a WordPress site to load quickly.
Note: I’m aware this blog is content-light, particularly regarding images which will show the speed tests for this site in a good light. However, there’s still DNS resolution, and a WordPress site to load along with CSS and JavaScript, etc. My intention is to do a ‘vanilla version’ vs ‘one with my tweaks’, to see the effectiveness.
I’m happy with it so far.
